Daily replacements refers to daily disposable contact lenses. Daily lenses are used during the day and normally scrapped before sleeping. A contact lens for single use is in other words a daily replacement lens to be used one day only. Contact lenses for daily wear can both refer to daily disposables, or other replacement contacts but essentially means to only use lenses during the day and take the lenses out before going to sleep.

Pros with daily disposables

- Better hygiene regime. By replacing lenses on a daily basis, the risk for infections caused by bacteria in the eye is significantly decreased.

- Ease of use. No solutions, no lens cases and no cleaning procedure is required.

- Convenience. Bringing lenses on the go becomes more important for commuters, travellers, shift workers or people with a dynamic lifestyle.

Cons with daily disposables

- Cannot be used for swimming. Preferable is using prescription swimming goggles. Tap water contains bacteria and should not be put into the eye.

- Expensive. To get one new lens every day rather than using the same lens for weeks or months, means you consume more and the cost subsequently increases. To cut cost, you could check out the lens Aura 1 Day which is a cost saver.

- Difficult to handle. Inserting daily disposables can be more tricky than inserting lenses designed for longer term, simply because lenses normally are thinner. One reason for this is a difference in quality, but more importantly, a daily disposable often contains more water which means the lens becomes thinner.
